FAQ

  • Where do you get your ideas?

This is by far my most commonly asked question, and I can honestly say that I get them everywhere. I read, I listen to music, I enjoy films and walks in nature. Most of all, I interact with people. Inspiration is all around us if we take the time to look for it.

  • What are you working on right now?

I’m getting ready for the release of Broken Veil, the third Shadowlands book, and I’m writing Obsidian Empire, the third book in The Firebird and the Wolf series.

The absolute best way to keep up with what I’m working on is to subscribe to my weekly newsletter!

  • How did you get published?

I’m primarily self-published, which means I didn’t ask anyone’s permission to publish my first book, A Hidden Fire. I do a lot of research, and I hire all my own editors, cover designers, and artists. My books go through all the same steps as a corporate-publisher’s book, but I decide what I want to write about, and I control the marketing. Self-publishing has always been my first choice.

  • How do you write so many books?

I’m lucky enough that writing is my full time job, and it’s also my favorite pastime. I love telling stories so much! I feel really lucky that I’m able to do this professionally, so I’m careful to treat it as a job and schedule enough writing time to make myself and my readers happy.

  • Are you going to write more Irin Chronicles books?

I can’t say that I would never write more books set in that world, but the series as it is right now is complete. If I did write more, it would likely be in a “next generation” kind of concept.

  • Are you going to finish the Seba Segal series?

Yep! I was delayed doing the research for the second and third books in the series, but I have them on the schedule for 2026 after The Firebird and the Wolf series is finished.
